Staffing of Microbiology and Virology Services
The Microbiology and Virology Department are headed by a Consultant Head of Department and is managed by a Laboratory manager supported by an Operational Manager, Quality Manager, Training Manager and a Health & Safety Manager. The different sections of the laboratory are supervised by Senior scientists.
All Microbiology and Virology Medical staff are appropriately qualified and are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
All Biomedical Scientists are appropriately qualified and are registered with the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC).
All staff undertake ongoing Continuing Professional development and Competency Assessments.
