Biography:   Following graduation from Warwick University in 1989, Gavin worked in Cambridge, Leeds and Newcastle Cytogenetics laboratories developing a keen interest in oncology cytogenetics.  Between 2003 and 2011 he was the National Training Officer in Cytogenetics and coordinated provision and delivery of training with the profession.  Since 2011 he has run the Cancer Cytogenetics Service in Newcastle and from 2015 also had a role as Operational manager for the Northern England Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service (NEHODS)
