Consultant in Clinical Genetics

Paul undertook undergraduate and postgraduate training in medicine in Newcastle and completed specialist training in Clinical Genetics in Nottingham. He was appointed Consultant with the Northern Genetics Service in 2002; his first task was to open a new satellite unit in Teesside based at the James Cook University Hospital. From 2008 to 2017 he was Clinical Director of the Northern Genetics Service before a year as Deputy Clinical Director of Integrated Laboratory Medicine at Newcastle Hospitals.

Paul’s clinical interests include cardiac genetics, cancer genetics, endocrine genetics and Fabry disease.
