I trained at Cambridge University and London University then at Leeds General Infirmary and finally in Newcastle. I have been a Home Office Pathologist for the North-East since 1993. I am responsible for the autopsy service within the trust and am the Human Tissue Authority Designated Individual. I examine for the Royal College of Pathologists and the Society of Apothecaries and am on committees at the Royal College of Pathologists and the Association of Clinical Pathologists. On the former I am lead for training and standards. I accredit forensic pathologists in the Netherlands. I am involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
